On Tuesday evening, April 28, 2026, we officially launched the new language website during our second language gathering. This launch represents an important step forward in creating a central, accessible space for language learners, speakers, and community members to connect with resources. The website serves as a hub for language modules, updates, learning materials, and other language resources, helping ensure that language learning opportunities are available to community members wherever they are.
The launch gathering was well-attended and presented a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate some of the site features, including this page. Community members had the chance to explore the platform, ask questions, register, and offer feedback as we begin this next phase using the website as digital language infrastructure for our revitalization efforts.
The momentum continued on Wednesday with our third Rapid Collection Workshop, an intensive and collaborative session focused on gathering language knowledge and documentation efficiently. Rapid collection workshops are designed to bring together speakers, learners, and language workers to capture as much linguistic knowledge as possible in a focused period of time. These sessions are invaluable for documenting vocabulary, expressions, usage patterns, and cultural knowledge that can inform future teaching materials and programming. These are all collected into a digital dictionary, which will be introduced to the community in the near future.
Together, these two events reflect the growing energy behind our language revitalization initiatives. The website launch provides an important foundation for ongoing learning and resource-sharing, while the rapid collection workshop helps ensure that the knowledge needed to fill that platform continues to grow. Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, shared knowledge, and supported these efforts!
